With nobody occupying the number 4 shirt at the moment, wouldn’t it be a great time to retire the shirt number to honour Leeds greatest ever number 4 Billy Bremner.
Billy died in 1997 and Leeds have already built a statue outside the South East corner of the ground in his memory.

Other clubs have done it in honour of their greatest players, West Ham United have retired the number 6 shirt in honour of the late Bobby Moore.

Billy Bremner has long been respected as the greatest ever player to wear the white shirt of Leeds United.

The Leeds captain under the great Don Revie side made 771 appearances for the club, only one less than Jack Charlton who holds the record for the most appearances.

He has been included in English and Scottish football’s hall of fame and also in the top 100 ever Football League legends.

Bremner also scored over 100 goals for the club and usually they were in the most important games of the season.

I am sure I speak on behalf of the vast majority of Leeds United supporters when I say this would be a fantastic gesture by the club at this time whilst the shirt is unoccupied.

If you would like to see this happen, please go to the Vital Leeds forum page and add your comments as to why this would be the right thing to do.
