Leeds went into the month of April sat nicely in the play off positions with still an outside chance of automatic promotion.

The Whites continued their recent improved form and made it five wins in a row with a 1-0 victory at Colchester United.
Luciano Becchio scored the only goal of the game on the half hour.

Leeds winning run came to a halt in the rearranged away fixture at Leyton Orient. The Whites will have been disappointed to only come away with a point, throwing away a two goal lead against ten men late on.

Robert Snodgrass had given Leeds a two goal lead on the hour, his second from the penalty spot which also saw the sending off, of Jason Demetriou for deliberate handball.

This seemed to galvanise the home side and two goals inside the final twenty five minutes earned them a point.
Sean Thornton scored direct from a free kick and then Simon Church got the O`s level with five minutes remaining after a mistake from Casper Ankergren in the Leeds goal.

Leeds got back to winning ways on the Saturday with a 1-0 home victory over Stockport County. Jon Howson scored the winner after only nine minutes.
With Peterborough continuing to win in second place Leeds were now looking like they would have to settle for a play off place with games running out.

Leeds lost their first game in twelve at Champions elect Leicester City on Easter Monday.

The Whites looked like coming away with a deserved point until a Steve Howard header deep into injury time won the game for the Foxes.

Leeds soon got back to winning ways and secured their play off spot with a 3-1 victory over seventh place Tranmere Rovers at Elland Road.

Jermaine Beckford set Leeds on their way and Neil Kilkenny looked like giving Leeds an easy afternoon inside the first half hour when he doubled the lead.

Within a minute keeper Casper Ankergren and defender Sam Sodje got in a mix up and Sodje saw his header go over the advancing Ankergren and into the net to give Rovers hope.

Becchio secured the three points for Leeds early in the second half and made it ten home wins in a row for club.

Jermaine Beckford was on target once again in the following game scoring the only goal of the game in the win at Hartlepool United. The win for Leeds meant they would finish in fourth or fifth place and would definitely face Millwall in the Play offs.

Leeds were going into May with their play off position secured, next week I will be doing the review of May when Leeds hearts were to be broken once again.
