Leeds United midfielder Lloyd Sam believes the side showed their character as they battled back to earn a point at Nottingham Forest and get their first point of the season.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Sam said, “After the first game when we lost against Derby, we really needed something from this game. When we went 1-0 down we kept our heads up and we showed good character to get back in it.”
Leeds had to whether an early storm from Forest and fell behind inside ten minutes.
It took until halfway into the half before Leeds started to get into the game and shortly before half time Sam nipped in to glance a header past Camp and into the Forest net.
In the second half Leeds looked the more likely winners and Sam continued to be a threat to the Forest defence and felt the side were unlucky to not take all three points, “We dug in and we could have even got a winner in the end” He continued.
The goal is Sam`s second in three games since his summer move from Charlton Athletic.
