New Leeds United recruit Lloyd Sam is looking forward to playing for his hometown club after signing a two year deal today.

The midfielder makes a long awaited return to his hometown after moving away only a few weeks after his birth.

Sam, who has spent the majority of his career playing in London is looking forward to getting started at Elland Road and is setting off with the rest of the squad for the two game tour of Slovakia on Saturday.

Speaking on the official website, Sam said, “I`m buzzing and I`m looking forward to getting started and getting to know the lads.”

The 25 year old admitted that he always had a soft spot for Leeds because his dad was a Leeds United supporter having spent time at Leeds University.

The England under 20 international, was an almost ever present for Charlton last season as they just failed to win promotion alongside Leeds, when they was beaten in the semi finals of the Play offs by Swindon.

He follows Neil Collins in joining the club this week and becomes the sixth signing of the summer by boss Simon Grayson as they look to make a sustained challenge at the top of the Championship.
