LUFC Rumours in full swing

The transfer rumours begin to gain pace as we move ever closer to the start of the new season.

It has now been six weeks since the last ball was kicked in anger at Loftus Road and as yet, we have not seen a player come in or go out, other than those that were released.

Since the last rumours article was done two weeks ago, it has been all about the former players.

Alan Smith and Jonathan Woodgate are both rumoured to be on the way back and the scary thing is manager Simon Grayson hasn`t ruled us out of the chase.

The physio will be on overtime if they do come back, especially if it is Woodgate.

Sunderland midfielder Bolo Zenden has also been linked with Leeds but he seems to be in the same mould as Smith and Woodgate in that he has hardly seen first team football in the past season.

Sheffield Wednesday defender Tommy Spurr has been linked with a move to Leeds but with a number of clubs interested in his signature it looks like he will be joining Doncaster Rovers.

Sheffield United midfielder Nicky Montgomery, who was linked with Leeds last summer is once again being linked with a move to Elland Road.

Montgomery could be part of a deal that would see Billy Paynter going to Bramall Lane.

The striker had a poor first season at Elland Road and could welcome a move to Hillsborough and join his former Swindon Town boss Danny Wilson.

The biggest worry is the amount of clubs that are being linked with Leeds player of the year last season, Max Gradel.

According to reports, West Ham, Fulham, Swansea and two unnamed French clubs are trying to lure the winger away from Elland Road.

One player who will not be on his way to Leeds is midfielder David Norris.

The former Ipswich player was linked with Leeds in the first week of the close season and as joined Portsmouth this week.

Neil Kilkenny and Bradley Johnson continue to be linked with a host of clubs with Hull City (Kilkenny) and Norwich City (Johnson) the current favourites to sign the pair.

I am sure by the time the next rumours article is published in two weeks time there will have been some movement either in or out of the club.
