Leeds United winger Robbie Rogers has undergone surgery on the ankle injury he sustained in the game with Peterborough United last weekend.
Rogers lasted just over ten minutes of the game in his first start for Leeds since signing in January.
The American international went for scans on the injury early in the week, they revealed a small fracture, and Rogers speaking on his twitter page says he hopes to be back in time for pre-season after successful surgery.
The 24 year old has suffered a frustrating start to his Leeds career. He suffered concussion in his Leeds debut against Doncaster Rovers in February when he was stretchered off within ten minutes of his debut as a substitute.
Rogers returned against Reading and Derby over Easter with two brief substitute appearances before earning his first start for Leeds against Peterborough.
After a promising opening to the game, he was replaced on twelve minutes following the injury sustained to his ankle.
The winger signed an 18-month contract at Elland Road in January after a successful trial period for former boss Simon Grayson.
Rogers made his name in the MLS with Columbus Crew and he has appeared for the national side on 18 occasions.
