Leeds United boss Neil Warnock said Robbie Rogers was unlucky after lasting just twelve minutes in his first start for the club.
The winger was forced off after making a bright start to the game and he left the ground on crutches after suffering an ankle injury.
Warnock says the player will go for an x-ray on Monday and they are not sure to the extent of the injury at this stage.
Speaking on LUTV Warnock said “We don`t know what the problem is at the moment. We are going to send him for an x-ray on Monday.
“He is unlucky, in my first home game he was injured after a few minutes and he cannot get a run in the team. He had done really well in training, he looked sharp and I wanted to see him in a match situation, so he is very unlucky.”
Rogers has suffered a stuttering start to his Leeds career after signing for the club in January.
He made his debut against Doncaster Rovers towards the end of February as a late substitute but he lasted just a few minutes after being knocked out following a clash of heads.
He had to wait until the two games over Easter against Reading and Derby County for his next appearances as a brief substitute and the game with Peterborough was to be his first chance to show his capabilities in a Leeds shirt.
With just three games remaining this season, the American international looks a major doubt for the final two weeks of the season.
