Leeds stretched their winning run to six games against Hereford but had to wait for a late goal from Andy Robinson to clinch it.

The hosts made two changes from the side that won last weekend against Carlisle, Howson and Robinson replaced Kilkenny and Hughes whilst young Aiden White continued at left back in place of Alan Sheehan.

Robinson who deservedly kept his place in the side after a great midweek performance in the Cup had Leeds first effort on goal, his long range shot being saved by Randolph in the Hereford goal.

The game was being solely played in the Hereford half with the visitors packing their defence and trying to frustrate the Leeds forwards.

Aiden White showed good skill on the left and his shot was deflected wide.

Randolph was having an inspired game in the Hereford goal and he continued to frustrate Leeds in the half with a number of good saves.

When Leeds were finding an opportunity to test the keeper even further some good last ditch defending was thwarting the Leeds players and Richard Rose epitomised this when making a last ditch tackle to stop Douglas scoring just before half time.

The teams went in at half time at 0-0 with Leeds having 60% of the possession but yet no goals to show for all their efforts.

The second half continued where the first half had left off, Beckford had a couple of chances in the opening minutes with one effort scraping the bar.

Hereford eventually got into the Leeds half and David Lucas tipped a Nick Chadwick effort over the bar just to warn Leeds to keep on their guard at the back.

Leeds were racking up their efforts on goal and it looked like being one of those frustrating days with Randolph continuing his crusade to keep a clean sheet.

The fans and players eventually had something to celebrate when after good work down the left from Beckford, his dinked ball in was met by Becchio at the back post and his effort was somehow cleared only as far as the on rushing Robinson and his powerful header found the back of the net.

Leeds went looking for the second goal to clinch victory and Randolph continued his good afternoon with a save from Becchio and a wonderful double save to deny Beckford.

With Hereford now having to come out of defence and test the Leeds backline Marques deflected a shot away to safety. Matt Done had a good chance in the last couple of minutes but slipped at the crucial time and Ashikodi wasted their best chance in the last minute when shooting wide to give all in Elland Road a nervous last few minutes.

The referee eventually blew his whistle for full time and Leeds celebrated their sixth successive victory and one that could have been by a much bigger margin if not for the Hereford keeper.
Leeds had an amazing thirty one efforts on goal and on this form it`s surely just a matter of time before somebody is on the wrong end of a Leeds hammering.

Next up is Peterborough United at London Road next Saturday lunch time.
