Former Leeds United keeper Paul Robinson believes that the club are set up for promotion this season after witnessing the side in action first hand on Saturday.

Robinson was forced into a number of first class saves to keep Leeds at bay has the Premiership club struggled to cope with the Leeds attack.

Speaking on the official website Robinson said “Leeds looked very strong, very fit, and I think they will go back up this season”.

Jermaine Beckford gave Leeds a thoroughly deserved lead early in the second half only for Blackburn to equalise with a penalty in the final minute.

Robinson also expressed his delight in being back at Elland Road after almost six years away and admitted to still being a huge fan of his former club, continuing he said “Of course I follow the results. I have happy memories here and I owe this club a lot for my footballing career and my education”.

Robinson received a fantastic reception from the crowd on Saturday who still remember the former number one fondly.
