Former Barnsley Manager Andy Ritchie has urged Leeds Striker Jermaine Beckford to stay at Leeds for another season.
He also worried that Leeds will be missing out next season if they release their hit-man who scored 34 goals last season.
In an interview with The Advertiser, Richie said’ I think Jermaine has things to learn and it would maybe be better for him to stay an extra year, although I don’t think he will.’
‘I don’t believe Leeds will get anybody who will score 34 goals for them next season but it Beckford goes they must sign someone who will get 20-odd goals at least.’
Beckford has been linked with several Championship clubs and his contract runs
out in June 2010.
