Released Leeds United striker Eoghan Stokes has been having a trial with Shamrock Rovers.

The 21-year-old had his contract terminated by mutual consent in January with less than six-months remaining on his deal at Elland Road.

The former Leeds academy product featured for Shamrock in their pre-season friendly at the weekend against Brentford B and their manager Stephen Bradley is hoping to sort out a deal with the youngster who made one senior appearance for Leeds when he started the Carabao Cup tie against Newport County in August.

“Eoghan obviously played with us the other day. He did well but he’s a little bit off fitness-wise. We’re speaking to Eoghan and hopefully there will be something there,” Bradley told the Irish Mirror

Stokes, who has been capped at under-19 level by the Republic of Ireland, has also been linked with moves to fellow League of Ireland sides Dundalk and Cork City since last summer.
