Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp is expecting Leeds United to be challenging for promotion this season.

Redknapp was talking after the fixtures were released today and he brings his Queens Park Rangers side to Elland Road at the end of August. The Rangers boss admits it is a tough start for his side, who will be aiming for an instant return to the Premier League following their relegation at the end of last season.

“It`s a tough start for us,” Redknapp told London24.

“Bolton and Leeds are big, big clubs in this division and both will expect to be challenging this season.

“There`s no easy games but we`re looking forward to the challenge that lies ahead.”

The two sides last met in the 2010/11 season when Queens Park Rangers ran away with the championship title.

Leeds were the only side to complete the double over the West London side that season, winning 2-0 at home in December thanks to two goals from Max Gradel. Leeds won 2-1 at Loftus Road on the final day of the season when Gradel was again on target as well as Ross McCormack in a 2-1 Leeds win.
