Leeds United have cancelled David Prutton`s contract by mutual consent.
The midfielder has made just the one start in the league for Leeds this season in the 2-0 win at Oldham in November.
Prutton joined fellow League One side Colchester United last week on an initial one month loan deal.
He scored on his debut for Colchester in midweek but was ineligible to play against his parent club at the weekend.
Prutton`s contract was up at the end of the season having spent two and a half years at the club making 78 appearances.
