Leeds United travel to London Road to face Peterborough United on Saturday for only the fifth time in the two clubs history.

In the previous four encounters, the two sides have both enjoyed two victories apiece.

Three of them have come in cup competitions. The first ever meeting between the two came during the 1973/74 season when Leeds won a FA Cup fourth round clash 4-1 thanks to goals from Joe Jordan (2), Terry Yorath and Peter Lorimer, played in front of 28,000 fans at London Road.

The next meeting came during the 1985/86 season, once again in the FA Cup. This time Fourth Division Peterborough produced a giant killing act with a 1-0 win in the third round.

Three seasons later the met in a two-legged League Cup second round tie.

Leeds won the first leg 2-1 at Peterborough thanks to goals from Ian Baird and the clubs current first team coach Glynn Snodin. The game was to mark the last in charge for Leeds legend Billy Bremner who was sacked the day after the game. For the record, Leeds won the second leg 3-1 to go through 5-2 on aggregate.

The only previous league encounter between the two sides came during the 2008/09 season, goals from George Boyd and Craig Mackail-Smith condemned Leeds to only their second defeat of the season in nine games.
