Leeds United summer signing Jason Pearce is looking forward to the new season and he is also looking forward to returning to training next week.
Pearce will report for training with the rest of the squad on July 11th as they look to prepare themselves for the 2012/13 season under Neil Warnock.
The young defender was Warnock`s first signing of the summer when he signed from Portsmouth in May on a four-year deal and despite admitting it looks like a tough start to the season, he can`t wait to get going.
Speaking on LUTV, Pearce said, “The summer has gone quite quickly with a lot going on. I am now ready, I really want to get back into training and have a good start to the season.
“Hopefully we will have a few games in pre-season, do well, get fit and everyone will be raring to go at the start of the season.
“There is going to be a lot of changes and we have some really good players here already.
“It is going to be a tough start but I am really looking forward to it.”
So far, Pearce has been joined by just Paul Green from Derby and Adam Drury from Norwich City in joining Leeds this summer.
Warnock continues to be linked with a whole host of players, with Paddy Kenny, Lee Peltier, Luke Chambers, David Norris and Luke Varney all reported to have been in talks with Warnock this week.
The squad return to Thorp Arch next week for a week`s intensive training, which will finish with a friendly at Farsley Celtic on the Friday. They then head off to Devon and Cornwall for five days.
Leeds will play Tavistock, Bodmin and Torquay United in their five days in the South West before heading out to Norway for a friendly with Sandefjord.
They return to England and travel to Burton Albion and finally Preston North End before kicking off their season, with a Capital One League Cup clash with Shrewsbury Town at Elland Road.
The championship season kicks off the following weekend when Leeds entertain relegated Wolverhampton Wanderers at Elland Road in front of the live Sky TV cameras.
