Leeds United defender Ben Parker has signed a new 3 year contract to keep him at the club until the summer of 2012.
Parker, who had two great games in the playoff semi-finals against Millwall, has been with the club since 2007 and this season established himself as the dominant left back at the club with the departure of Carl Dickinson after his loan spell.
Ben made 30 appearances last season for the Whites in their bid for promotion as he tried to regain form in his own personal push for first team football with competition from Alan Sheehan, Aidan White and loanee Carl Dickinson.
Leeds Boss Simon Grayson said this on the official site ‘Ben took his chance last season. He’d waited for the opportunity, he’s had a few spells out on loan which has done his development good, and now he
knows he has more security on his contract, but he’s also got plenty on his hands from the other left-backs from the club.”
Leeds fans will hope that by the time this contract has finished in 2012 that things will be looking very different when it comes to preparing for the next season, in whatever division that may be.
