Sheffield United manager Micky Adams was full of praise for his side after defeating Leeds United in a Yorkshire derby.

The former Leeds players saw his side record their second victory since taking over the Bramall Lane hot seat at the start of the year.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Adams said, ‘We were terrific and I thought there was a commitment there that was all to see.
‘We stifled Leeds, their three-man midfield in particular.
‘We were better than them all around the pitch. We limited them to a few chances and, maybe in my tenure here, teams have taken the chances they have had against us.
‘We’ve now beaten Nottingham Forest and Leeds here, and we’ve shown what we are capable of doing.
‘I told the players that everyone had written them off before the game. But we’re not finished yet. We’ve got four home games left which are key to it and this performance has given us a chance.’

The defeat sees Leeds remain in fifth place after the teams around them failed to capitalise on their defeat.

Only Queens Park Rangers and Swansea City won out of the teams that started the day in the top ten in the division.

Leeds now have a two-week break due to the international fixtures, before they return with a hectic April ahead of them.

They start the month with a home game against Nottingham Forest at Elland Road, the side currently in sixth place.

Leeds also face games against Millwall, Watford, Reading and Burnley who all still hope to be in the end of season Play Offs.

Leeds could still reach the top two automatic places as they stand just six points behind second place but they cannot afford any more performances like the one at Sheffield United.
