LUFC Opposition fans view v Reading

Reading fan Matt Brown made the long journey to Leeds on Friday night and gave us his views on the Leeds players, the same as he did in the fixture earlier on in the season at the Madejski.

Goalkeeper/Defence

We never really tested Schmeichel all evening, which says good things about your defence. For a side that have conceded so many this season you looked solid in defence with the two centre backs not giving Long and Hunt a chance.
Robson-Kanu looked lively on the left for us in the first half and gave Connolly a hard time.

Schmeichel 6
Connolly 6
O`Brien 7
Naylor 7
Lichaj 7

Midfield
Your midfield gave us no time on the ball and chased and harried our midfield. I thought Snodgrass had a quiet game and his crosses into the middle rarely beat the first man.
Gradel looked dangerous and he had a couple of good chances.
Thought you was very lucky to keep eleven men on the pitch, Livermore should have definitely have been sent off for two yellow cards.

Snodgrass 6
Howson 7
Johnson 7
Livermore 5
Gradel 7

Striker
You miss Becchio and you need him back now if you are going to make the play offs as Paynter carried no threat to us all evening.

Paynter 5

Substitute
Your game improved in the second half with his introduction.
He knocked the ball around well and played a few key passes that could have resulted in goals.

Somma and Watt gave you a bit more energy in attack when they came on and Watt could have hurt us in the final seconds had he been a bit more composed.

Summary
You brought our eight match winning run to an end and stopped us from having a serious effort all evening.
Our keeper had a blinder and if not for him, we could have easily been beaten two or three nil.
You need Becchio fit in attack as you might as well have played without a striker with Paynter doing very little.
Good luck for the rest of the season and I might see you in the Play offs, hopefully the final.

Cheers Matt for your thoughts on our players.
