*On this day in 1997, Leeds edged a seven-goal thriller at Ewood Park with a 4-3 win against Blackburn Rovers.

All seven goals came in the first half as Leeds raced into a 2-0 lead inside 6 minutes thanks to goals from Rod Wallace and Robert Molenaar. Blackburn were level ten minutes later but another superb strike by Wallace just a minute after Blackburn had levelled put Leeds ahead again.

David Hopkin made in 4-2 to Leeds after just 22-minutes before Martin Dahlin made it 4-3 after just 33 minutes.

Despite Harry Kewell being shown a red card for Leeds in the second half, Leeds held on for the win.
