*On this day 44 years ago, Leeds United were cheated out of European glory by Greek referee Christos Michas, who is believed to have been bribed by AC Milan.

The referee made a number of very questionable decisions, including two in the lead up to their goal. A free-kick to Leeds that wasn`t given and a dubious one that was then given to Milan, from which they scored.

It was just two of a number of decisions that mystified most fans in the stadium, with neutrals in the ground chanting ‘cheat` at the referee. Michas was eventually banned from refereeing in Europe.

Leeds have since lost an appeal to have the result overturned.
