Leeds are handed a boost with the news that striker Jermaine Beckford wants to stay at the club. Beckford spent the final few months of the season on loan at Scunthorpe United, helping them win promotion with 8 goals. Beckford is in Germany with the Leeds squad as they prepare for their three game tour.
2009
Ironically, two years to the day, Jermaine Beckford is taken off the transfer list at Elland Road. Beckford was placed on the transfer list at the end of last season after failing to agree a new deal with Leeds.
Ken Bates decided after discussion with Leeds boss Simon Grayson to take Beckford off the transfer list, speaking on Yorkshire Radio Bates said ‘We`re quite happy to keep him, he`s under contract until the end of the season, and we`re looking forward to him playing his part in getting us promoted this season’.
2012
Leeds United goalkeeper Andy Lonergan has signed for fellow championship side Bolton Wanderers.
Lonergan has signed for Bolton for an undisclosed fee on a three-year deal.
The 28 year olds move comes just a week after goalkeeper Paddy Kenny signed for Leeds United.
Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says he will be looking to bring in another goalkeeper after selling Andy Lonergan to Bolton Wanderers.
Lonergan preferred a move back to Lancashire rather than fighting for his place with new signing Paddy Kenny, who arrived at Leeds from Queens Park Rangers last week.
With the Football League reinstating seven substitutes again this season, after one season of naming just five, Warnock is likely to include one amongst his substitutes, having preferred to name five outfield players following his arrival in February.
With Paul Rachubka on the transfer list and the only experienced goalkeeper remaining at the club, Warnock is looking to bring in another goalkeeper. Speaking on the official website, Warnock said, ‘I`ll be looking to bring one in.
‘I think you have to have one on the bench with seven subs. You have to be realistic. I think seven subs are good because it also gives the younger players a chance.’
Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says the club have received a bid for Robert Snodgrass but it does not meets Leeds valuation of the player.
The club captain is yet to sign the new deal offered to him by Leeds at the end of last season as he waits to see the ambitions of the club in the transfer market this summer before committing himself to the club.
Norwich twice had bids turned down for the Scotland international winger last summer and Warnock says they have once again fallen short of what Leeds think he is worth. Speaking on the official website, Warnock said, ‘It’s been made public that they have bid, but from our own point of view it’s not what we’re looking for.
‘We’d like to keep Rob, and Rob knows that. Whether that will be possible we’ll have to wait and see. ‘
It’s difficult when players get their heads turned, but I’d like to keep Rob at the club and that’s what I’m trying to do at the moment.
Unless they come up with a valuation that the club thinks is satisfactory then that’s what we want to do.’

Leeds United have had another game chosen for live coverage on Sky Sports.
The game with Birmingham City at Elland Road, originally scheduled for Saturday October 19th will now take place on Sunday October 20th with a 1.15pm kick off.
It is the fourth game chosen by Sky involving Leeds so far this season with the games against Leicester City, Sheffield Wednesday and Queens Park Rangers in August already being chosen
