2008
Experienced defender Paul Telfer is having a trial at the club and he joins up with Leeds boss Gary McAllister on the clubs pre-season tour in Ireland.

2009
Jermaine Beckford is on target twice as Leeds draw 2-2 with League of Ireland side Shelbourne in pre-season.

Beckford had fired Leeds into a two-goal lead but Shelbourne scored twice in the opening minutes of the second half.

Goalkeeper Alan Martin is being linked with a move to League Two side Accrington Stanley having spent much of the previous season on loan at Barrow (He signed for Stanley on August 1st).

The League One clash with Norwich City is moved to Monday October 19th and will be shown live on Sky TV.

2010
Leeds youngster Tom Elliott joins League Two side Rotherham United on loan until the New Year.

2011
Leeds boss Simon Grayson says he is going to give Honduran international Ramon Nunez a chance to shine in pre-season having failed to break into the side the previous season. Nunez starred in the opening pre-season win over Falkirk.

Having recently signed a new two-year deal with the club, Patrick Kisnorbo says he is ready to get his career back on track after 14 months out with an Achilles injury. Speaking after playing in the opening pre-season win at Falkirk, Kisnorbo said, ‘In a way I`ve got unfinished business at Leeds.

‘My first season here was a good one but it feels like a long time ago now.

‘I`d like to make more of a mark. I`m grateful for the way the club looked after me and I`m grateful that they`ve given me another two years. I`ll do what I can to pay them back.’

2013
Leeds United are giving a trial to goalkeeper Darjan Curanovic.

Curanovic is currently having a trial with the Leeds squad whilst the side are spending ten days in Slovenia.

The 27-year-old Slovenia is currently playing for Triglav Kranj in the Slovenian league having had unsuccessful trials with English clubs Middlesbrough and Portsmouth last summer.

Curanovic is keen on a move to England. Speaking on Sport TV, he said, ‘One of the goalies at Leeds United broke his arm so they invited me to train with them. If everything goes by the plan there is also a chance for me to sign for Leeds.

‘Every player dreams about playing in England so I really hope that this will become reality for me.’

The 6`2′ goalkeeper was expected to make an appearance against FC Domzale on Saturday but Brian McDermott used youngster Alex Cairns for 90 minutes.

Leeds finish their pre-season tour of Slovenia on Tuesday night with a game against Hungarian side Ferencvaros.

Experienced goalkeepers Paddy Kenny and James Ashdown as well as youngsters Alex Cairns and Eric Grimes are already on professional deals at Elland Road.


2014
Leeds United have had their championship encounter at Rotherham United moved to accommodate live TV coverage.

The game, originally scheduled for Saturday 18th October, will now take place on Friday 17th October with a 7.45pm kick off and it will be shown live on Sky Sports.

It is the third game involving Leeds to be moved already this season to accommodate Sky as they make their first visit to the New York City Stadium.

2015
Leeds United have signed goalkeeper Ross Turnbull from Barnsley.

The 30-year-old has joined Leeds on a free transfer on a two-year deal.


Leeds United have drawn their latest pre-season game 1-1 at York City.

Sam Byram gave Leeds a first half lead before York found a late equaliser.


Leeds cruised to a 3-0 win at Tadcaster Albion with all three strikers finding their names on the scoresheet.

Leeds included Marco Silvestri, Liam Cooper, Casper Sloth, Souleymane Doukara, Mirco Antenucci and Billy Sharp in the starting line-up.

Antenucci opened the scoring early in the game for Leeds when he found space and fired home with his left foot.

Leeds doubled their lead early in the second half when defender Liam Cooper headed goalwards and Sharp was on hand to finish.

Leeds made it 3-0 in the final ten minutes when Doukara stroked the ball home.
