Leeds skipper Jonny Howson says he is looking for the club to improve on last season`s seventh placed finish. Speaking with the side on tour in Scotland, Howson said, ‘If you`re looking to improve, and obviously we are, then sixth place is a fair expectation.

‘Improving on last season means finishing sixth and it`s what we`ll be aiming to do. It`s what the fans will demand of us too.

‘I`d expect us to learn a lot from last season and in certain respects we`ll be better for it. It was quite a difficult season to judge because, as a whole, we went a lot closer to the play-offs than anyone expected. I didn`t hear too many people tipping us before the season.’

Leeds United have completed the loan signing of Cardiff City midfielder Tom Adeyemi.

The 23-year-old has joined Leeds on a season long loan with a view to a permanent deal next summer.
