Birthdays
1950 Tony Currie (68)

My Elland Road boyhood hero, Tony Currie is 68 today. Currie made over 100 appearances during his three-years at Elland Road at a time when the club were on a downward spiral following the Don Revie years, although he did help Leeds reach three domestic cup semi-finals.

When fans talk about Currie, their first recollection is usually his goal against Southampton at Elland Road in 1978. You can see the goal just after 4 minutes 30 seconds of this clip.
