*On this day in 1968, having drawn the first leg 0-0 in Glasgow, Leeds booked their place in the Inter Cities Cup semi-final with a 2-0 win over Glasgow Rangers at Elland Road. Goals from Peter Lorimer and a Johnny Giles penalty sent Leeds through to face another Scottish opponent Dundee in the semi-final.

**On this day 1975, Leeds put one foot in the European Cup final with a 2-1 home win over Barcelona at Elland Road. As usual, Billy Bremner was on target in a crucial semi-final to open the scoring for Leeds. Barcelona equalised through a Joan Manuel Asensi free-kick before Allan Clarke ensured Leeds had the advantage ahead of the second leg in the Nou Camp.
