*On this day in 1970, a British record 135,826 fans watched at Hampden Park as Celtic beat Leeds 2-1 to end the whites hopes of European Cup glory at the semi-final stage despite a superb goal from Billy Bremner.



**In 1972, Leeds booked their place in the centenary FA Cup final with a 3-0 win over Birmingham City in the semi-final at Hillsborough thanks to two goals from Mick Jones and one from Peter Lorimer.
