*On this day in 1992, Leeds United continued their pursuit of a third league championship crown with a 3-1 win at Tottenham Hotspur. Rod Wallace had given Leeds a first half lead before being pegged back in the second half by a Paul Allen strike for the home side. Two late goals from Jon Newsome (his first for the club) and Gary McAllister ensured the points were heading back to Yorkshire.
