From the start of the 2009/10 season all Football League clubs will be able to name seven substitutes.
It`s already been introduced to the Premiership where it started at the beginning of the 2008/09 season
The increase for the Football League clubs was proposed by Derby County at the Football League clubs Annual General Meeting, clubs approved the proposal for it to start at the start of the new season.
Leeds United are amongst the seeded clubs when the draw for the Capital One League Cup is announced on Thursday.
The draw as been split into two sections, (north and south) and Leeds are one of sixteen teams seeded in the draw.
