Leeds United midfielder Eunan O`Kane says the side learnt a lesson from their defeat at Burton Albion last season as they came from behind to win at the Pirelli Stadium on Boxing Day.

Leeds lost 2-1 at Burton in April, a defeat that took Leeds play-off destiny out of their own hands for the first time, and it looked like being another bad day in Burton, as they trailed at half time on Tuesday.

Goals from Pablo Hernandez and Kemar Roofe ensured Leeds kept their good run going this month as they made it four wins from four games and O`Kane says the side learnt a lesson from the defeat last season.

“It is a great win, we knew coming here was going to be very difficult,” O`Kane told the Leeds official website .

“We learnt a lesson here last year and it was emphasized before the game, how big on a test this would be.

“Burton are a completely different team at home, compared to what they are away from home and they dug in and worked hard to get a result, but I think our quality showed in the end.

“The game here last season more or less ended our Play-Off hopes and we had a little bit of a score to settle for some of us who were here and we did look back on it and picked out where we went wrong and tried not to let this happen again.

Leeds have now won five of their last six games to move back into the play-off places and just five points behind the automatic promotion places having been way behind the top two when they returned from the international break in November.

Leeds will now look to finish 2017 with another three points at struggling Birmingham City on Saturday and close the gap even further.
