Leeds United boss Simon Grayson is ready to give Ramon Nunez the opportunity to shine this season.

The 25 year old made a big impression against Falkirk on Tuesday night in his first start for Leeds.

Nunez reported back for pre season training almost fully fit after representing Honduras over the summer in the Gold Cup, with them losing out at the semi final stage just over three weeks ago.

The Honduras international made just two substitute appearances for Leeds last season and ended the season on loan at Scunthorpe United.

Nunez enjoyed his spell with Scunthorpe scoring three times in eight games.

Grayson is now hoping that he can bring that form into the Leeds side this season. Speaking on the official website , Grayson said, “What`s benefited Ramon is that he played those games fro Scunthorpe and played for Honduras over the summer which will have done his confidence good.
“He`s come back looking fit and sharp. We know he`s got the talent, it`s just about adapting it to a different style of football.”

Grayson will be hoping that Nunez can follow a similar path to that of Davide Somma.

The South African enjoyed a successful loan spell at Lincoln City during the 2009/10 season before getting his chance at Elland Road last season when he netted 12 times in 31 appearances.

Nunez signed a new one-year deal at Elland Road at the end of last season after originally joining on a short-term deal.
