Leeds United legend Norman Hunter will finally pick up a World Cup winners medal almost 43 years after the final.

Back in 1966 when England won the World Cup only the eleven players who played in the final received medals, not even the manager Sir Alf Ramsey received one.

This was changed in 1974 when all the squad and backroom staff also received a medal.

FIFA recently reviewed the situation and decided to back date all the way to the first finals in 1930 to ensure that everyone who was part of the squad would receive medals.

As well as Hunter receiving one, Les Cocker who was Don Revie`s assistant during the glory years at Elland Road will also receive a medal for his role along side England boss Sir Alf Ramsey.

Les`s family will receive a medal for Les who sadly departed back in 1979, the family have been instrumental in campaigning for him to be awarded a medal over the years.

Leeds United are also wanting to organise a presentation to award both Norman and Les`s family their winners medals.
