New Leeds United signing Luke Murphy says it still hasn`t sunk in after joining the club and it wasn`t a hard decision despite a number of clubs chasing the Crewe Alexandra captain.

The 23-year-old had already held talks with Wolverhampton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers but he says it wasn`t a hard decision to choose Leeds United.

“It is an unbelievable feeling to have signed for a club with the stature of Leeds United and it still hasn`t sunk in yet,” he told Yorkshire Radio.

“Brian didn`t have to be really persuasive with a club like Leeds United because it sells itself. I think it is a Premier League club, who are on the up and I don`t think it will be long before they are back in there.

“My conversation with Brian wasn`t just about playing in the championship, we are looking to get into the Premier League and he wants me to be a part of it and I am over the moon.”

Murphy has signed a three-year deal at Elland Road and he becomes Brian McDermott`s second signing of the summer following the arrival of Oldham Athletic striker Matt Smith last month.
