Leeds United head coach Garry Monk refused to be drawn in on speculation linking him with the vacant managers job at Scottish side Rangers.

The Scottish Premier League side are currently without a manager following the strange departure of former Brentford manager Mark Warburton last weekend.

Rangers announced on Friday that Warburton had handed in his resignation, something Warburton strongly denies, and the Scottish powerhouses are now searching for his replacement.

Reports in the Daily and Sunday Express today suggested that Rangers are keen to take Monk north of the border something Monk would not be drawn into during his pre-match press conference this afternoon.

‘I don’t comment on speculation,’ Monk told his press conference when asked about his link with the vacant manager`s job at Ibrox.

‘I’m focused on my job here.’

Monk has led Leeds to a play-off place this season following his arrival in the summer and with just 14 games remaining they look well set to make a sustained challenge to earn their place back in the Premier League for the first time since 2004.

The former Swansea boss is currently on a one-year rolling contract at Elland Road.
