Leeds United boss Brian McDermott was full of praise for the returning Danny Pugh and Michael Brown in the win at Charlton Athletic.
Pugh was making his first start for Leeds in twelve months and he played his part in Leeds win as did Brown who battled hard in midfield.
McDermott also praised goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, as the Leeds goalkeeper made great saves either side of half time.
Speaking on LUTV, McDermott said, “I was proud of Michael Brown and Danny Pugh. Pugh has not played for a year and he puts in a performance like he did.
“He won us the penalty and I thought he was excellent.
“Paddy Kenny made two saves that in my opinion were match winning saves and that is why he has been a top goalkeeper for such a long time.”
Pugh made his last appearance for Leeds as a substitute in the game at Burnley last November and he looked to be on his way out of the club after being placed on the transfer list and spending the second half of last season at Sheffield Wednesday.
His appearance at Charlton was his 98th in his second spell at Elland Road.
Brown was making his first league start of the season after making just two appearances in all competitions before Saturday.
The veteran midfielder came in for young midfielder Alex Mowatt, who picked up an injury in training in the week and Brown put in his usual combative display in midfield.
