Leeds United boss Brian McDermott says he missed out on a player this week despite adding two new players to his squad in the past two days.

McDermott has brought in Cameron Stewart from Hull City and Jimmy Kebe from Crystal Palace and the Leeds boss says he is still looking to add to his squad this month.

McDermott spoke to Alan Brazil on Talksport on Friday morning and he said, “We tried to add another player on Thursday and it didn`t quite happen, so there is still a possibility to do something.”

McDermott admitted on Thursday that he was interested in signing Brighton striker Ashley Barnes.

Barnes completed a three-and-a-half year deal with fellow championship side Burnley today.

Another player reportedly on the radar of McDermott will not be arriving at the club.

Bradford City striker Nahki Wells has completed a move to Yorkshire neighbours Huddersfield Town today.
