Leeds United boss Brian McDermott says that new signing Noel Hunt will endear himself to the fans with his hard work and determination.
The 30-year-old has finally put pen to paper on a two-year deal at Elland Road after running down his contract at Reading.
The Republic of Ireland international was a fans favourite at the Madejski Stadium due to his hard work and commitment and McDermott is backing Hunt to become a fans favourite at Elland Road.
Speaking on the official website , McDermott said, ‘Noel is a player that I scouted five years ago when he was playing for Dundee United.
‘We spent £500,000 on him at the time, and that was money very well spent. He’s an infectious character and I’m sure he will engage Leeds United fans with his desire and determination, and never say die attitude.
‘He will bring an awful lot to our squad on and off the pitch, and I’m delighted he’s chosen to come and play for Leeds.’
Ironically, Reading beat Leeds to the signing of Hunt five years ago when he was with Scottish Premier League side Dundee United.
Leeds were strongly linked with a move for the striker in the summer of 2008 before deciding to join Reading.
In his five years at Reading, Hunt made 162 appearances, scoring 39 goals.
