LUFC McCormack misses out on award


Despite enjoying a fantastic month in September, Leeds United striker Ross McCormack has missed out on the player of the month in the championship.

McCormack was on the shortlist of four players, with the award going to Middlesbrough defender Matthew Bates.

The striker netted five times in three games for Leeds and he is currently the joint top scorer in the championship with eight goals.

Rickie Lambert – Southampton and Jason Shackell – Derby County were the other players on the shortlist to miss out on the award.

The winner is chosen from a panel of so-called experts including former footballer Peter Beagrie
