David Lucas should be back quicker than expected after scans showed his damaged finger was not broken.

The shot stopper injured his finger during the pre match warm up and had to be replaced by Casper Ankergren, missing the 2-0 defeat against Peterborough to put an end to Leeds six consecutive victories.

Lucas had been an integral part of that run and had kept a clean sheet in his last two games.

Gary McAllister speaking on the official website about the injury said “Dave has had an x-ray and it`s not as bad as we first thought now. He`ll be able to train with a splint on”

I doubt he will be risked for the Rotherham game in the Johnstones Paint Trophy in midweek and Casper will probably keep his place in the team.

Casper spoke to the official site about his late call up on Saturday and said “I felt for Dave it wasn`t nice for him, but I had to get ready because I had to play”
