Leeds United defender Tom Lees is the first player this season to accept a new deal at Elland Road.

The defender signed a new deal last Christmas keeping him at Elland Road until the summer of 2013, but after an impressive start to the season, Leeds have rewarded him with a new deal until the summer of 2015.

Lees spent most of the last two seasons on loan at Accrington Stanley and Bury, where he helped the latter win promotion from League Two last season.

The 20 year old finally made his debut for the club in the Carling Cup tie with Bradford City earlier this season, when he came on as a second half substitute.

He was quickly in the thick of the action and his pinpoint cross for Ross McCormack helped Leeds get back into the game.

Lees retained his place at right back for the next championship game against Middlesbrough and he has been an every present since in the Championship since.

He also managed to score his first goal for Leeds in their next game against Hull City when he put Leeds ahead for a second time, this after he had scored through his own goal at the other end.

Lees contract until the summer of 2015 makes him the longest contracted player at Elland Road.
