Leeds United defender Tom Lees said he is looking forward to building a new team spirit after meeting up with new signing Jason Pearce for the first time on Thursday.
Neil Warnock has already started to reshape his squad ahead of next season with Pearce, along with Paul Green and Adam Drury signing for the club in the summer.
Lees met Pearce on Thursday at the launch of the new Leeds away shirt for 2012/13 and he says the defensive duo are already getting on well and he is looking forward to meeting the rest of the squad next week when they return for pre-season training.
Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Lees said, “It is the first time I have met him, this morning. We are already getting on well and it is good to meet one of the new players.
“The rest of the players will be coming in next week, I look forward to seeing them and it will be good to do a week at Thorp Arch and then down to Cornwall for a week and get some team spirit going.”
The squad return to training on July 11th and spend just over a week training at Thorp Arch before heading off to Cornwall and Devon for three games in five days.
Warnock will be hoping to add to his squad before the players return to training on Wednesday with a number of players reported to be close to a move to Leeds.
Paddy Kenny, Lee Peltier, Luke Varney, David Norris have all been reported as being close to a move to Elland Road.
One player who will not return to Thorp Arch with the rest of the Leeds squad is Adam Clayton.
The midfielder has joined championship rivals Huddersfield Town today on a three-year deal after being placed on the transfer list by Warnock at the end of last season.
