Young Leeds United defender Lewie Coyle has received the first red card of his professional career.

Coyle, who is on a season-long loan at Fleetwood Town, was shown a straight red card in the second half of their FA Cup First Round tie at Chorley.

In a game that was shown live on BT Sport, Coyle received a straight red card for a poor tackle on Chorley`s Jake Cottrell.

Fleetwood trailed 1-0 at the time of the red card but they fought back to win 2-1 and boss Uwe Rosler had no complaints about the red card.

‘Lewie Coyle is a fantastic player but he was frustrated,” Rosler told the BBC.

“We will not talk about this today, we need to get the emotions out of the way but we have no complaints about the red card.’

Coyle has been enjoying an excellent loan spell at the League One promotion chasers and his appearance at Chorley was his 18th of the season.
