Young Leeds United defender Charlie Taylor has tasted success whilst away with the England under 19 squad this week.

England have been involved in a four-team tournament in Limoges, France and have won the Limoges tournament after finishing unbeaten in their three games.

In their first game, they drew 2-2 with hosts France, with Taylor being an unused substitute in the game.

England won their next game 1-0 against Portugal, Taylor coming off the bench at half time with the score at 0-0.

In their final game, they defeated Ukraine 3-1 with Taylor completing the full 90 minutes helping them to finish top of the table.

England, managed by former Leeds defender Noel Blake, finished with seven points, ahead of France and Portugal with four and Ukraine with one to claim the tournament.

It caps a fantastic 2011 for the 18 year old who has enjoyed plenty of personal success during the year.

The defender won the LFE 2010/11 Youth and Academy Alliance goal of the season for his strike against Newcastle United in April.

Taylor was rewarded with a three-year professional contract by Leeds in May and he has already played for the first team this season.

He made his debut for the club as a substitute in the Carling Cup win over Bradford City and he also came off the bench against Doncaster Rovers in the second round for his second appearance two weeks later.

The Yorkshire born defender made his first start for the club when he played in the championship game against Crystal Palace in September.

In a very competent first start, his excellent cross led to Ross McCormack firing Leeds ahead inside ten minutes in a game Leeds eventually won 3-2.

His form earned him his first call up to the England under 19 squad for this tournament, and after sitting out the first game, he helped England win their final two games to secure the tournament.
