Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino says striker Nile Ranger will not be joining Leeds despite reports this week that he was to have a trial at the club.
Ranger is without a club following his release by Swindon Town as disciplinary problems continue to plague his career and Cellino says he doesn`t have time for who he described as a ‘bad boy`.
Speaking to Simon Austin , Cellino said, ‘The players are like a family and I can’t afford to spend too much time on one of them who has problems.’
The 23-year-old was sent to a young offenders institute when he was just 15 after being involved in a robbery in London.
He was given a chance by Newcastle United but off field problems continued to mount and the young striker has been arrested on a number of occasions for drunken and disorderly behaviour, criminal damage as well as assault. Ranger has been charged twice this year for criminal damage following an incident in Liverpool with a taxi and at the home of his apartment.
