Mr Michael Oliver will be the man in charge of Saturday`s crucial League One clash between Leeds United and Tranmere Rovers at Elland Road.

He is the son of Clive Oliver who also is on the national list of football referee`s.

Michael is the youngest referee currently on the list but is quickly earning a great reputation in only his second year and is regularly refereeing high profile Championship games.

Mr Oliver so far this season has refereed 36 games; in those 36 games that he`s refereed he`s shown 87 yellow cards and 5 reds.

Last season he refereed 29 games showing 73 yellow cards and 6 reds.

He has so far only refereed one Leeds game, which was earlier in the season when they drew 1-1 at home with Northampton Town in the FA Cup, in that game he booked four, Northampton`s Giles Coke and also awarded Leeds a penalty.

This will be the third time that he`s refereed a Tranmere game this season, he was in charge of their Johnstone`s Paint Trophy defeat at Scunthorpe and their home win over Cheltenham Town.

Referee: Mr M. Oliver (Northumberland)
Assistants: M. Coy & S. M Hutchinson
Fourth official: M. A Astley
