Danny McDermid will be the man in charge this Saturday when Leeds entertain Stockport County at Elland Road.

The Middlesex official has so far refereed 5 games this season showing 14 yellow cards and 0 reds.

McDermid missed the whole of last season, but in the 2007/08 season he refereed 23 games showing 79 yellow cards and 8 reds.

Leeds fans who might be thinking that name rings a bell, will probably remember him better if I said he was the man in charge at Gillingham in 2007 when he sent off both Tresor Kandol and Jermaine Beckford, he managed to produce nine yellow cards in total during the game with Beckford and Kandol getting two each.

Gillingham equalised deep into injury time to bring to an end Leeds 100% start to the season.

Leeds fans, players and coaching staff were infuriated by his decisions and he needed a Police escort at the end of the game.

It`s the only occasion he`s been in charge of a Leeds United game.

The last time he refereed a Stockport game was the same season when they lost 4-2 at Mansfield Town.
All six goals came in a frantic first half, he was also involved in controversy that day when he harshly sent off Mansfield defender Lee Bell.

In his only other game involving Stockport they lost 7-2 at home against Rochdale in the 2006/07 season.

Referee: D.S McDermid (Middlesex)
Assistants: S. J Copeland & S. Smith
Fourth official: D.S Bond
