In the previous 27, Leeds have won 16, Portsmouth 5 and 6 have been drawn.

When they first clashed in 1923, it was in an FA Cup replay with Leeds winning 3-1.

Leeds remained unbeaten in the first four encounters at Elland Road before Portsmouth won a First Division clash 1-0 in 1933.

Leeds enjoyed their biggest win during the 1956/57 season when defeating Portsmouth 4-1.

Portsmouth have never won by more than one goal in their five wins at Elland Road. There best win was during the 1996/97 season, when as a Second Division club they defeated Premier League Leeds 3-2.

In the twenty-seven previous meetings, there as only ever been one goalless draw, with an average of three goals per game overall.

When the two clubs met last season over the festive period, they served up a six-goal thriller in a 3-3 draw.

Leeds looked to be cruising to victory when they were two goals ahead inside ten minutes thanks to strikes from Max Gradel and Jonny Howson.

Portsmouth gave themselves a chance when David Nugent pulled a goal back for the visitors.

Bradley Johnson looked to have wrapped the game up for Leeds when he made it 3-1 but Aaron Hughes gave Portsmouth hope when he pulled on back and Andy O`Brien put through his own net in the third minute of injury time to earn them a point.
