Leeds United are hopeful that striker Luciano Becchio will be back soon, although they are not putting any timescale on his return after it was confirmed that he had not broken his ankle.

Becchio suffered an innocuous injury in the recent home game against Charlton Athletic when he had to be carried off the pitch after standing on the ball.

After X Rays revealed there was no break, Leeds boss Simon Grayson speaking on the official website said ‘Luciano is having treatment and we will see how he goes. I am not one for setting timescales on players nor do I like talking about injured players and setting targets. We will see how he progresses.’

Tresor Kandol put his name firmly in the frame to replace the Argentine striker in Monday`s League One clash with Norwich City with another two goals for the reserves on Tuesday night.
