I was in the hot seat for the trip to Peterborough as Leeds United got back to winning ways after the disappointment at Blackpool in midweek.

Kenny 7
He made a couple of decent saves and could do little with the goal. He had a relatively quiet afternoon thanks to his defence.

Peltier 7
He was solid at right back and he was part of a solid back four.

Lees 7
He looks a much better player with decent players around him and he is learning off them. Last season he was thrown in at the deep end. Lees and Pearce are a good partnership in the making.

Pearce 8
He plays the game with a swagger. He takes no prisoners and he does the simple things, he does not try to be anything he is not. A good old fashioned, ‘head it and kick it` defender.

Drury 7
A solid performance on his debut. Good to see a natural left back playing in the side.

Diouf 6
He doesn`t look fit enough to me. No pace to get around the wide man and he was guilty of giving the ball away on a few occasions in dangerous areas.

Austin 7
Performance I suppose we will get used to by Austin. No frills, he just does his defensive midfield duties well.

Norris 6
A bit disappointed with him today and his attempt at a clearance for their goal was a shocker.

McCormack 7
He is working really hard for the side this season and I can see him leading the championship for assists. He just needs to get off the mark with a goal in the championship.

Becchio 8 Star Man
What a difference a pre-season makes. Becchio wasn`t really at the races the whole of last season having missed pre-season. He looks back to his troublesome best this term and four goals already.

Varney 5
He seems ok until he crosses the halfway line. The defensive side of his game is good and he helps out but going forward he isn`t doing it for me. He did have an assist for the first goal but apart from that, I thought he was poor.

Subs

Byram 7

He gave us a bit more impetus when he came on for Diouf. He helped out at the back, got stuck in and caused problems in the final third. He could have quite easily have scored a couple of goals.

Poleon 6
Good to see him get a chance. I think he could be a dangerous substitute to have this season. He caused a few problems in his short spell.

Gray
Came on very late on and he never really got into the game.

Summary
I am not going to kid anyone; we beat a poor Peterborough side that look in deep trouble already. We should have had the game dead and buried before having to worry late on after conceding a soft goal.

The positives to take are that we finally look like we have a goalkeeper and defence who will not concede a stack of goals this season and they will get better as the season goes on.

Centre of midfield looks steady with Austin and Norris and Becchio and McCormack upfront are going to cause problems for defences this season.

We have problems out wide. We lack pace and the creativity to hurt defences. I was happy with the signing of Varney but he has disappointed me so far going forward. El Hadji Diouf doesn`t look fit enough.

It doesn`t look like we will be bringing anyone in before the transfer window closes, so going with what we have, I think we are a mid-table side.

However, had I been offered six points from nine in the opening three games I would have been happy.
