LUFC Leeds United Fan View v Reading

I made the trip to the Madejski Stadium on Saturday to watch Leeds clash with Reading.

I give my view of the performance after the 1-0 defeat to Reading.

Green 7
He kept Leeds in the game with a number of good saves and he was unlucky not to keep out the goal.

Berardi 7
Another consistent performance from Mr Dependable.

Bartley 5
Not at his best and he really should have done better with his chance to score in the first half.

Cooper 5
I am not sure why he jumped out of the way of Taylor`s header that led to the first goal. He could be in trouble with the FA and with Jansson injured, Ayling may need to cover in the centre of defence.

Taylor 5
I was screaming at him to get goal side at the throw in that led to the first goal. I was wondering if he actually knew you couldn`t be offside at a throw in. A poor header followed and they scored.

In the second half he got involved going forward and he always looked our most likely player to create something.

Bridcutt 5
He really struggled to get a foot on the ball. He is usually the man to start us off in midfield bringing the ball forward but he didn`t do that against Reading.

Vieira 4
He never got going in the game and he should have come off a lot earlier. Reading were finding so much room in the centre of midfield in the first half.

Sacko 5
He was always on the fringes of the game. He did create one good chance in the first half with a good cross but no one was there to get on the end of it and that summed up our attacking.

Wood 6
He hardly got a touch in the first half but he really came to life in the second half but he never had a chance in front of goal.

Pedraza 6
The odd good moment. He should have done better with his chance just before they scored. He provided a superb cross for Hernandez who really should have scored just before the break.

Hernandez 5
He tried to create things for Leeds but he was often left frustrated.

Subs

Doukara 6

He gave us more impetus going forward and he linked up well with Taylor on a couple of occasions. Not sure why he didn`t want to give the ball to Reading when we were trailing in the game and they had won a free-kick.

Phillips 5
He should have replaced Vieira early in the second half. He at least put a foot in and tried to break things up in midfield.

Roofe 5
He also should have been on earlier in the game.

Summary
We never play well at the Madejski Stadium. I wasn`t expecting a classic game between two sides who have made a habit this season out of winning ugly.

First half, both teams seemed happy to sit back and I hoped a goal would bring the game to life but apart from a few chances, we rarely looked like scoring.

We now must go to Brentford on Tuesday and get something or we could have the teams in sixth and seventh breathing down our necks.
