Leeds United have decided not to offer veteran defender Darren Powell a contract after his short stay.

33 year old Powell was released by Derby County in January and was given a chance by Leeds to resurrect his career with a two week trial.

Powell played in two games for the Whites during his stay but doesn`t seem quite up to the fitness Grayson was looking for, speaking on the official site Grayson said: ‘We looked closely at Darren. He trained well and had the experience side of it, but we need someone who could step straight up if needed and Darren may be a couple of weeks away.’
